NRA Basic Pistol Certification Class

Plaistow Fish & Game will be holding an NRA Basic Pistol Class on Saturday January 3, 2026. It is an all-day class, open to members and non-members. Class size is limited, so it is important that you register early to ensure that you reserve a space.
Upon completion of the course, you will receive an NRA wallet card certifying your successful completion of the program. You also have the option to receive a Massachusetts Certificate of Completion, which is required when applying for a Firearms Identification Card or License to Carry in Massachusetts.
The program is geared to new, as well as experienced pistol shooters, and contains a balanced mix of classroom and one on one live fire instruction.
Some of the topics covered will include:
   *Gun Safety
   *Types of handguns
   *Ammunition
   *Stance and Grip
   *Aiming and Trigger Control
   *Error Correction
   *Cleaning and Maintenance
We will be shooting at varying distances up to 50 feet. Participants are welcome to bring their own gun and ammunition. We will provide .22 caliber handguns and ammunition to anyone who does not have their own gun. Please bring ear and eye protection if you have it.
The cost for the class is $100 for club members and $150 for non-members. Payment is due at the time of registration and can either be cash or a check made out to the Plaistow Fish and Game Club.
The class will start promptly at 9:00 am and will end before 4:00 pm.
All NRA materials will be provided, as well as coffee and donuts in the morning and lunch at noon.
